Tutor Su Rogers graduated 2 years ago from University of Creative Arts in Farnham and is a professional ceramicsist, making and selling her own work. She has been teaching in adult education for 6 years, passing on her skills and passion to a whole new group of people every year.
She currently teaches 5 classes in the Guildford and Woking Adult Education Centres.
Susays of her students “They are all very passionate about making withclay.” They all cover all aspects of working with clay including sculpture, throwing, coiling and slab work. Each person develops a unique technique with glazing and making; drawing inspiration from nature, abstract artists, architecture and the human body, but letting creativity flow.

Very affordable pieces and worth a visit.
Good luck everyone and a big well done!
Dear all
There is an Old Cromartie IT5 Electric kiln going free to whoever would be able to collect it (single phase 7.5KW)
I do not know exact dimensions but it is around 170cm tall an I am guessing would weigh around 300 kg ? it was working when last used .
If you are able collect then contact Lucy Field on 01635 579915 , it was her mothers kiln before she passed away so Lucy doesn’t know lots about it .
The kiln is in North Stoke , Oxfordshire
Good luck, Su

Email Petition to retain Farnham Pottery for Potters
The Farnham Pottery in Wrecclesham is soon to be sold by the Farnham Building Preservation Trust (FBPT) the present owners of the site. As a long standing member of this trust I would like to ask for signatures to support the Council of Management to take a decision that best reflects the Trust’s aims;
”To preserve for the benefit of the people of Farnham …and the nation at large, whatever of the English historical, architectural and constructional heritage may exist”
These objectives I believe are best served by retaining the pottery for potters.
As a FBPT member I endorse the proposal by Farnham Pottery Trust, which is centred on educational and skills based ideals as the very best option in order to preserve and retain the cultural distinctiveness of this unique site. Any conversion needed to accommodate ceramics courses would require minimum intervention to the structure of the building and fulfil any conservation management scheme in place.
It is vital we retain this important landmark site to ensure a future for both local community access and creative development of future generations of young people through their association with the Farnham Pottery.
Time is running out, if you have an interest in maintaining future access to the pottery and support ceramics for all please respond to
j.quigley147@btinternet.com or 01252 714328 [evenings only please] with your support by June 25th.
Thanks so much to those who have already offered overwhelming support.
Please can those who are yet to reply just express support and ask for their names to be added to the petition.
Hi ya all.
I have just had some more postcards printed, as they went like hot cakes!
Attached an A4 poster and a postcard so that you can print some off yourselves, but I will have some more to give out at classes, which by the way are only 3 weeks left, ALL your work look great and with the help of the technician it will get fired.
Please NOTE!!
The show running from 4th – 16 July MUST be maned…. meaning if there is no one there it is CLOSED. Please please try to make time to at least have one slot of the roster which has been round each class and only two takers.
Set-up – you MUST get your work to the Harvey Gallery from 12.00 Saturday 2nd July as the show is setting up then. – let me know if you have problems with that as perhaps you can leave some work at the Guildford studio. Any work that is left or arrives at the gallery unlabelled with a description / name of maker / price - WILL NOT GO IN THE SHOW!
All items have to be listed on a price list BEFORE private view – would some please take this responsibility on as I will find it VERY hard to keep all plates in the air as it is! (volunteer please) ?????????????
Private View: it seems best that each of you give’s me £10 for wine/soft drink/nibbles. I will get that all there on the Saturday. If anyone wants to make any nibbles it would be upto them. (volunteer please) ????????????????
If you know I have missed people off the email please let me know.
Please look on my website as I am putting information on there and speaking to you each in class, but if people don’t make classes my website has info.
I will help you price things, but the Internet is good for looking at similar prices.
This is a link to the Harvey Gallery website and your show! Perhaps facebook users could advertise it there? Please do all you can to market the show, email / posters / postcards, its alot of work if no one turns up or worse case the gallery is CLOSED!

P.S Lets look forward to a good show.
Hi, make sure you get a chance to visit some studios during the 11th – 26th June 2011!! My studio is no. 45 (in the book), ensure you ask the artist to sign the back of the book for a FREE prize draw.
It’s an interesting experience visiting a studio and meeting the maker, inspirational. Also, nice to have the option to buy work directly from the maker at reasonable prices.
My studio has had a make-over!!
Regards
Su xxx
